Leonardo-DiCaprio made entertainment and gossip news this week by vaping during the SAG awards in which he won an award for Best Actor. The American Lung Association called him out for ‘Deeply troubling’ conduct as seen in these reports.
Dr Siegel says: “IN MY VIEW: American Lung Association Would Rather Have Smokers Die than Switch to Electronic Cigarettes”
Dr. Siegel a Professor in the Department of Community Health Sciences, Boston University School of Public Health and has 25 years of experience in the field of tobacco control. Writes a blog and several post are critical of both the American Lung Association and the American Cancer Society stating that
“The ALA is simply wrong in arguing that e-cigarettes have not been shown to help smokers quit. Not only have scientific studies confirmed that e-cigarettes have helped thousands of smokers quit, but the most rigorous study – a randomized clinical trial – demonstrated that e-cigarettes are at least as effective as the nicotine patch, a medication that the ALA does recommend.”
